About Smelling
The information regarding the fragrances we sniff is transferred by our nervous system directly from the nostrils to the brain's Limbic System, a primal system which is located in the rear part of the brain and is responsible for coordinating between the different areas of the brain: Areas in charge of emotional aspects (anger, grief, joy, etc.), areas in charge of the physical aspects of the body (breathing, heart beat, etc.) and the areas in charge of the thinking process and memory.
Scents, therefore, have a deep and direct physical and emotional influence on us it is rare that we remain indifferent to a certain fragrance, although we might like or dislike it.
Natural perfumes existed from ancient times and were known to have great therapeutic qualities: They can calm and relax, uplift the spirit, make you feel clean and pure or can be used as aphrodisiacs.
St. Germain's scents are concentrated extracts produced from different plants, trees, flowers and herbs (the Patchouli, for example is a bush, while the rose is a flower) and are made from different parts of plants roots, fruits, leaves, flowers or branches. The Jasmine, for example, is extracted from flowers, while the Lemon is extracted from the fruit's peel.
